After a missed repayment
If a Hong Kong personal loan, owner loan, or second mortgage is not paid on time, read the contract, contact the actual lender, and do not pay a stranger who offers to “fix” the arrears.
Start with the document you signed
After a missed payment, the consequences are in the loan document, not in a friend’s story. The document usually states how late interest runs, when the default becomes serious, and, if there is security, how the lender may deal with the property. Finding those paragraphs is more useful than searching for a generic answer.
If China Prestige Capital is the lender, call 3622 2934 yourself and identify the account from your papers. Do not give a verification code to an incoming caller. If we are not the lender, contact the party named in the document, not a number from an advertisement.
Do not disappear, and do not pretend with a new loan
Silence does not stop the debt from running. Borrowing immediately to fill this month, when next month is still short, only adds a creditor. Borrowing to repay borrowing is especially dangerous once you are already late.
Clearing the arrears in one sum is the cleanest outcome. If you cannot, state the income and what you can actually pay, so any later discussion has facts. This page cannot promise a grace period, a restructure, or a reduction. Any change needs new writing. A spoken reassurance is not a change.
Security puts the home in the same problem
Arrears on a second mortgage or owner loan can affect the property, not only produce a collection call. If a first mortgage remains with a bank, that loan continues under the bank’s document. Paying one side does not make the other wait.
If you receive papers about a sale, rent, or legal proceedings, give them to your own solicitor promptly. Our articles and hotline do not replace that advice, and they are not a reason to ignore a court or solicitors’ letter.
Beware of a fee to “sort out” the arrears
When you are most anxious, someone may offer to stop collection, delete a record, or guarantee the flat will not be sold, if you pay first. Those promises usually fail. Do not hand over title deeds, an identity card, or online banking.
If you have already transferred money, stop, keep the records, and consider a police report. After that, deal only with the lender named in the document.
A later enquiry has to mention the arrears
If you enquire again after missing payments, say so. Hiding recent arrears does not make a new loan safe. A lender who does not know the existing pressure may approve an amount you can afford even less.
When repayment ability is already insufficient, not adding debt is reasonable. Hotline 3622 2934 can check whether an account or a call belongs to this firm. It will not demand a fee before the conversation. You have to repay your loans. Don’t pay any intermediaries.
