Why you should not pay a loan broker
What the Hong Kong warning about intermediaries means, how advance-fee scams work, and why a licensed-lender enquiry should not be prepaid.
The statutory warning is not a slogan
Money-lender advertising has to show the warning: you have to repay your loans, and you should not pay intermediaries. The first half means a loan is a debt, not a gift. The second half means you should not pay a broker to obtain it. The warning is repeated on this site, on the form, and in these articles.
The advance-fee scam asks for a transfer before you are approved, often before you have met a real lender. After the transfer, the person disappears and there was never a loan. Until China Prestige Capital confirms terms in writing, do not pay anyone.
Names used for the fee
Callers label the payment a handling fee, a valuation fee, an express fee, a deposit, or an unfreezing fee. They may borrow a staff name, send a fake contract, or show someone else’s licence. The first amount is often small, so that later amounts can follow.
A real assessment does not start with a transfer to a personal bank account, a crypto address, or an unknown payment link. If they will not let you call 3622 2934, or they want payment before you hang up, stop.
An enquiry here is not prepaid
The form or WhatsApp collects the product, an approximate amount, and a phone number. That step has no fee. A later call to check details should not turn into a demand for payment. Any fee belongs in the loan document you decide to sign, not in a personal transfer before approval.
If the enquiry is declined, a deposit you already paid a stranger is not a reason to keep borrowing. A decline is an assessment result, not a debt you owe a broker.
Enquire yourself
Going directly to the licensed lender keeps the source of the information clear and reduces the chance that someone else uses your name. Do not hand an identity card, an address proof, or bank statements to an adviser you cannot verify. We collect information to handle the enquiry, keep compliance records, and prevent fraud.
The form must not contain an identity-card number, a banking password, or a one-time code. If a page or a chat asks for those, leave and call the hotline to check you are still on our channel.
If you have already paid
Stop further payments. Keep the transfer record, screenshots, and the receiving account, and consider a police report. Call 3622 2934 so we can tell you whether the payment has anything to do with this firm. Most of these payments do not.
After that, use only the hotline you dial yourself, cs@cpc-credit.com, or the form on this website. Do not open a new refund link from the same person.
